Getting Lost

September 25, 2007

Today I got lost while walking around a Chicago neighborhood.  It took so much effort to ask someone for directions… I swear, sometimes I’m such a guy.

Lifting, MJ

September 19, 2007

Got a membership to 24 Hour Fitness and right away decided to work out.  It’s been a while since I lifted, so as expected today I am ridiculously sore.  But it was so worth it.  Running has its benefits, and no doubt I will continue to run.  But doing weights is in a different category; it feels great.  Can I get an amen?

And for some reason I felt inspired to post this video.

Cirque du Soleil

September 15, 2007

All the guys out there may mock me for this post, but I have to let the cat out of the bag. I went to see Cirque du Soleil. And I liked it.

Brandi Carlile

September 13, 2007

Last night I saw Brandi Carlile at the House of Blues on Sunset. Great concert. It felt good, I mentioned to Mike, to finally see where all the young people in LA gather. I don’t get out as much as I should. Consequently, large crowds of people in their twenties transform me into the kid visiting Disneyland for the first time, wide-eyed and hopeful.

Then I observed that Brandi has a strong lesbian following. Guess that means she’s gay. And as usual I was in one of those moods where I wanted a girlfriend, which gave me common ground with the other women present. We all thought Brandi was hot.

Stalker

I dreamed I had a male stalker and that he was stalking me through my blog.

Getting Good at Blogging

September 5, 2007

A friend at work tried to articulate the difference between geeks and nerds to me: geeks realize that they are socially awkward and have obsessions that no one else cares about. Nerds don’t; they assume everyone is as interested in Star Trek as they are. Or something along those lines… but that’s not the point of this post.

I think blogging might just fall into that category of “requires obsession and countless hours hunched over the computer” in order to get truly good at. And is it worth it?

Turns out August was an awesome month for my blog. We (yes, I’m using “we” to refer to me and my blog) doubled our number of views from July to August, jumping from 311 to 633. Much of that was fueled by a 6 day span from August 12-17 during which I posted literally every day. And unfortunately that’s probably the cost of generating lots of views: you have to post daily. But I’m sure there’s more to it… I probably need to go reread my notes from Research Methods my junior year of college… then I’ll run a multivariate regression analysis on this bad boy and BAMMM… we gonna get ourselves some correlation coefficients, standard deviations, and… and…. and now i’m going to bed.

Brian Regan and The Me Monster

Brian Regan capturing one of my biggest social pet-peeves, though I stand guilty of it myself.
