My sister gave me the Nike + iPod for Christmas. Tried it out today. Do I feel like a total yuppie for continuing to add gadgets to my running experience? Yes… course that doesn’t mean it’s not enjoyable. And this is what gets uploaded to the Nike website when I finish a run.

One of my coolest memories of college was getting to go to Airborne School while in the Army ROTC program. So, here’s a video showing what it’s like to exit the airplane.
Tonight it got down to 42 degrees (all of my college friends out there, go ahead and laugh… or be jealous, either is fine with me). I’m not complaining. I was actually kind of excited. The slight chill in the air brought back memories, both good and bad, of living in a cold weather climate. I appreciate how weather extremes force me to live differently; they provoke a more candid interaction with my surroundings. Guess they also help me appreciate warmth and shelter, and the wonderfulness of hot food.
My thoughts about the cold eventually wandered to movies about the cold. And one of those is Fargo, don’t you know?
